Award Winning Paper - Wilson Hall
Wilson Hall, located in Chemor, Perak is the world's 1st portal frame building built by Dura Technology Sdn Bhd using UHPdC technology. Wilson Hall was designed and built with the aim to study the potential use and feasibility of DURA® precast members against the conventional steel members in portal frame design.

The building consists of a total roof coverage area of 2,681m2 (i.e. 30,800 ft2). The total transverse width and longitudinal length of the roof which covers 67 m (i.e. 220 ft) and 42.7 m (i.e. 140 ft), respectively. Each portal frame is spaced 12.2 m c/c (i.e. 40ft) and the building consists of eight pieces of DURA® prestressed columns, internal rafters, cantilever rafters and connectors. For this building the reduction number of column is tremendous.
