DURA Technology Presented In the 4th International Symposium – HiperMat 4 in Kassel, Germany

Dr. Ir. Voo Yen Lei attended the 4th International Symposium dealing with the topic of Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) and High Performance Construction Materials, HiperMat 4. This is the 4th international symposium on UHPC and it was held at University of Kassel, Germany from 9 to 11 March 2016. The symposium is held once in every four years. More than 200 scientists, engineers, researcher/academics, users and commercial exhibitors from all over the world met to exchange ideas in regards to UHPC in construction engineering and to present the latest research results.

During the 3 day symposium more than 100 papers/presentations were given. Dr. Ir. Voo shared his experience on application and research findings on the following topics:

-   Design and Construction of the 100 metre Span UHPC Batu 6 Segmental Box Girder Bridge

-   Experimental Study on Radiation Attenuation Coefficient (µ) of Steel Fibre Reinforced Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) produced with Silica Sand and Amang

All in all, the presentation was well received and generated a crowd of interested audience with questions particularly related to the success stories and progression of DURA Technology in since it started.

UHPC is a leap forward in concrete technology and is progressing in Malaysia just as it is around the world. Till date, three countries are working towards completion on the UHPC design code with Switzerland and Germany finalizing by end of 2016 and France by 2017.
