Technical Visit to Dura Factory by JKR MALAYSIA , KKR, JPM, and MOF


07Public Works Department (JKR) Malaysia , Ministry of Public Works (KKR), Prime Minister’s Department (JPM), and Ministry of Finance (MOF)  were attend the technical visit program to the  factory in Chemor, Perak Darul Ridzuan . 

On 13th November 2017, it is indeed a gratifying moment as Ir.  Abd. Rahman bin Salleh from JKR and also Yang Berbahagia  Dato’ Razali bin Mohamad from MOF visited Dura Technology’s factory. Subsequently, they were given a short presentation on Dura products by Prof. Ir. Dr Voo Yen Lei for sharing the knowledge about UHPFRC to participants at the Wilson Hall. During the presentation, a demonstration on the flexibility of UHPFRC was shown through a simple experiment with 10 average men standing on a 50mm thick, 5.5m long plank without even cracking or breaking it, and with much more enthusiasm, the plank went back to its original point even after it has been deflected with a midspan deflection.

DURA BAGS BEST PROJECT AWARD (INFRASTRUCTURE)- SMALL PROJECT AT THE MALAYSIAN CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY EXCELLENCE AWARDS (MCIEA) 2017

 
08KUALA LUMPUR, 15 September 2017- Dura Technology Sdn Bhd recently won the Best Project Award (Infrastructure)- Small Project at the Malaysian Construction Industry Excellence Awards (MCIEA) 2017, an annual award organized by The Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Malaysia to recognises individuals, organisations and projects that have contributed and demonstrated excellence in enhancing the image, performance and improvement of the construction industry.
 
Dura Technology is proud to win the award for constructing the 100m Single Span bridge in Batu 6 Gerik, Perak that was completed in 2015. Built with the state-of-art technology, the Best Project Award (Infrastructure) – Small Award was handed to Dura CEO, Voo.

Exhibition on “Construction Technology 2017’ in Conjunction with the JKR Senior Officers Conference (SOC) 2017

Conference (SOC) 2017 was held in Bukit Gambang Resort City, Kuantan, Pahang from 22nd until 23rd May 2017. The event was officially opened by the Malaysia Work Minister, YB Dato Fadillah Yusof and seconded by the JKR General Director (KPKR) Dato Seri Ir Dr Roslan. The main objective of the annual meeting is to listen to the mandate and direction of leadership, as the intellectual and discussion of active and proactive, brainstorming, sharing of knowledge and experience, as well as a platform to JKR officers to exchange ideas and views that can triggers new ideas and innovative in raising the level of professionalism to achieve excellence in the delivery department.

Fuzhuo & Tsinghua Universities Visited DTSB


05On the 18th April, a total of 26 Chinese from People's Republic of China (PRC) visited Perak, with the aims to study and visit some of the on-going bridge construction project and completed bridges using UHPC precast girders. The groups consist of one of the most leading expert of UHPC standards writer, Professor Yan Peiyu from Tsinghua University and many PhD students from Fuzhuo University. On the first day of the visit, a lecture of three hours was presented by Dr Voo to the crowds. Many new research ideas were exploited during the session on the potential applications of UHPC in PRC. One of the major identified potential application was UHPC in-filled into steel tube member for arch bridge construction.

On 19th April, the first site visit was at the on-going bridge construction project at Kampung Paloh, crossing Kinta River at Ipoh town. A single span UHPC composite bridge of 55 metres long was under construction by JKR Perak. During the first site visit, the groups could examine and see the assembled five numbers of DURA UBG2000-55m girders near the job site without the girders being post-tensioned. The students were amazed by the simplicity of UHPC precast girder when comparing to normal conventional construction.

Singapore Seminar of Concrete For Sustainability, Productivity & Future

Singapore, March 30, 2017- The CEO of DURA Technology Sdn Bhd, Adj. A/Prof. Ir. Dr. Voo Yen Lei has been invited by the Singapore chapter of American Concrete Institute (ACI) and Building and Construction Authority (BCA) to shared his knowledge by delivered a thirty minutes lecture on Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC): Technology for Present and Future during the one day seminar.

The seminar that was held at Concorde Hotel aims to covers challenges on the production control, innovative ways to improve concrete construction productivity as well as green concrete for sustainable construction. Upon the discussion of the current practices of concrete construction, there were 11 distinguished guests from local and overseas speakers comprising industry experts, academics, and private practitioners that present papers of various topics in this field.
