The Event of The Letter of Acceptance (SST) and Contract Documents (2 In 1) to Dura Construction Sdn Bhd

KUALA LUMPUR, March 21 - The Letter of Acceptance (SST) and Contract Documents (2 In 1) were held at 12 noon at Mezzanine Level, Menara KKR Block G, Headquarters of the JKR Malaysia. Guests present are the top senior directors of JKR in Malaysia. YBhg. Dato' Sri Ir. Dr. Roslan bin Md Taha, Director-General of Public Works Malaysia (KPKR) has handed over SST to contractors who have secured the invitation of the project by the Public Works Department (JKR).
SST and Contract Documents at this time are the new targets of JKR Malaysia under Dato' Sri Ir. Dr. Roslan bin Md Taha. In this way interim affairs will no longer be delayed and both parties from the beginning have a Contract Document for reference of any dispute. There were 4 projects to be implemented by successful companies and our company, Dura Construction Sdn Bhd was selected for a program replacing the old bridge for the purpose of increasing the weight limit of commercial vehicles in Peninsular Malaysia with contract costs totaling 34.45 million. The proposed bridge is intended to provide convenience to residents and also to ensure the safety of the population The construction period is for 24 months or 2 years.

He also said "for the information of Design and Built projects as well as ordinary projects, open tender and so on and we have been approved by MoF to shorten the duration of the contract as well as the return period of the design for JKR to assess". 

YBhg. Dato' Sri KPKR also conveyed his wishes and expectations to these successful companies to:

• Success today can inspire all JKR staff to have more projects in the future to emulate this 2 in 1 success.
• The contractor can deliver quality and quality services in line with the benefits earned.
• Work performed should be in accordance with specifications as contained in the contract of work.
• Need to work together and have good relationships with JKR and always communicate with the JKR so that the project can be implemented perfectly
• Comply with any safety rules and procedures outlined.
• Appreciate and have a sense of ownership of the project.

Among the mandates he has also delivered is that upon completion, contractors must have 3 items namely Certificate Practical Completion (CPC), Statement of Final Account and As-built Drawing. The ceremony concludes with the Letter of Acceptance (SST) and Contract Documents to successful contractors as well as photo sessions with the top directors of the JKR.

DURA Presents UHPFRC Bridges to JKR Sarawak

Dura Technology was invited by Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) Sarawak to give a presentation on Ultra-High Performance Fiber Reinforced Concrete (UHPFRC) bridges here in Kuching at Bangunan JKR Sarawak on 25th January 2018. There were 16 participants, from top management to design engineers attended the presentation organised by JKR Sarawak.

Dura Technology Sdn Bhd represented by Adj. Prof. Ir. Dr. YL Voo presented the talk on Ultra-High Performance Fiber Reinforced Concrete to educate about UHFPC and to create an understanding on it’s applications as to how it can be more sustainable compared to current technology. The presentation ended with a Q & A session with the participants followed by an afternoon tea session. It was a well received presentation by the audiences.

After the presentation session, Dura team visited three sites located in Betong, Sarawak. The three sites were Bridge 1 (Sg. Layar), Bridge 2 (Penyelanih Kanan) and Bridge 3 (Buluh Antu). A single span 80m bridge as proposed to be builts as Bridge 1 which is located in Sg Layar. In addition to that, the width is further expended to 11m. The existing Bridge 2; Penyelanih Kanan which connects a school and longhouses, has debris and timber blockage which are stuck in between the piers. Therefore, the team proposed a single span 52m bridge with the width of 4m to effectively resolve the blockage in between piers issue. Lastly for Bridge 3 in Buluh Antu, a single span of 23m and 4m wide long was proposed.
