Hyderabad, January 31, 2020- Dr. Voo has been invited as one of the speakers in India giving speech about “The Malaysia Perspective on Making UHPFRC Prefabricate Bridge Elements as Standard Products”. The workshop is organised by Indian National Group of the IABSE. IABSE was set up in May 1957, under the patronage of the Government of India, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways with active participation of engineers and professionals from the public and private sector as well as research and academic institutions. Basically, the workshop by an IABSE is associate with Roads and Buildings Department, PWD, Government of Telangana and Ministry of Road Transport and Highways are organizing a two-day Workshop on “Long Span Bridge Construction” on 31st January and 1st February 2020 at Hyderabad.
The aim of this workshop is to develop more awareness among the Engineers of the State PWDs and other executing agencies about the importance of quality control and quality assurance in design and construction of these structures, keeping in view their long design service life. Dr. Voo also gave a short introduction of Dura Technology Sdn Bhd and a presentation on UHPFRC bridges in term of Malaysian perspective. During the presentation, Dr Voo has shown how UHPC bridge helps to promote sustainable construction with immediate cost saving, enhanced durability of the concrete structures, and the significant contributions of this technology to global warming were also highlighted.
