
IPOH, 31st March 2026 – Deputy State Secretary Sarawak (Economic Planning and Development), Dato Sri Dr. Muhammad Abdullah bin Zaidel today led a delegation for an official visit to Dura Factory (DURA) in Chemor, Ipoh, as part of ongoing efforts to explore innovative and sustainable construction materials for infrastructure development in Sarawak.
The visit provided an opportunity for delegation to gain insights into advanced composite technologies and modern manufacturing processes adopted by DURA, which their product were recognised for their durability, corrosion resistance and cost efficiency.
During the visit, the delegation was briefed about DURA products and their success in various infrastructure project, including bridges, and industrial facilities. The session also included a technical walkthrough of the production line, showcasing the company’s capabilities in delivering high-performance and sustainable construction solutions.
In his remarks, Dato Sri Dr. Muhammad emphasised the importance of embracing innovation, in ensuring that Sarawak’s infrastructure development remains sustainable, cost-effective, and resilient, particularly in addressing the unique geographical and environmental challenges faced by the State.
He further noted that the collaboration between state agencies and industry players is essential in identifying practical solutions that can be adopted in ongoing and future projects.
The visit forms part of a broader initiative by Sarawak Government to continuously evaluate and integrate innovative technologies that can improve efficiency, reduce costs and support the State’s long-term development agenda.
Together with him during the visit were YBrs. Puan Ir. Ts. Annastesia Sulastri Salleh, Deputy Director (Asset), Jabatan Perkhidmatan Pembentungan Sarawak (JPPS), YBrs. Encik Suhadi Sulaiman, Chief Executive Officer, InnoCement Sdn Bhd and relevant technical officers of JPPS.
