The technology exchange and experiment observation meeting was chaired by Chen Guanxiong, chairman of Guangdong Highway Society, and Zong Dunfeng, chief engineer of China Electric Power Construction Group CO., Ltd., delivered a speech. Tian Yueqiang, chief engineer of Zhonglu Dura International Engineering Co., Ltd., explained the construction of 30m span UHPC-NC composite beam on Zhongkai High Speed Torch No.3 Bridge.
At last, Sun Xiangdong, chief engineer of Guangdong Transportation Planning and Design Institute Group Co., Ltd., the chief editor of Technical Specification for Prestressed Ultra-high Performance Concrete Girder Bridges without Web Tendons, which is the group standard of the Guangdong highway society, made a field announcement about the group.

The Zhongshan- Kaiping Expressway project was built by China Electric Construction Road and Bridge Group Co., Ltd. and designed by Sujiaoke Group Corp., The project starts from Cuiheng New Area of Zhongshan city, which is a key project connecting Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Bay area. The total length of expressway route is 129.637 km. There are 47,631m / 29 extra-large bridges, 21,727m / 42 bridges and 1,422m / 27 bridges (including mainline bridges).
There are 767m / 2 mountain tunnels (average length of double holes) and 4030m / 2 sunken long tunnels. 25 interchanges; Set up 3 services areas. The No.3 bridge of the main line of Torch East service area in the first phase of Zhongshan section of this project adopts a 30-meter U-shaped UHPC composite beam. It is the first time that the 30-meter UHPC composite beam without web bars is applied to the highway bridge in China, which is a milestone in the history of highway bridge construction.
After the technical exchange meeting, the participants went to UHPC R&D and production base of Zhonglu Dura International Engineering CO., Ltd. At noon, the hot weather could not stop the enthusiasm of participants to observe the full scale test of bending bearing capacity of 30-meter U-shaped UHPC composite beam in Zhongkai Expressway. In order to verify the flexural capacity of UHPC composite beams without web tendons, South China University of Technology has made a detailed arrangement for this experiment. The final test results show that the actual bending bearing capacity of 30m U-shaped UHPC composite beam in Zhongkai Expressway project reaches 156% of the designed resistance value, the safety reserve is sufficient and the test is successful.
This technology exchange and observation activity has expanded the field of vision of the participants and enhanced the understanding of UHPC, enhance the confidence of domestics experts, scholars and owners in the use of new materials UHPC, and constantly promote the wide application of UHPC, so that more construction areas benefit from the new materials and new structure brought about by the significant improvement of the overall structure quality and efficiency.
